Reconnect with a lost relative or friend, with their consent
For personal reconnections we do things differently. We find the person, pass on your message, and share an address or contact details only if they say yes. It protects them, it protects you, and it is the only way we will do it.

Adopted people and birth relatives, old friends, former colleagues, people tracing family history.
How it works
- Tell us who you are looking for and what you would like to say.
- We trace them and deliver your message. If we cannot find them, nothing is charged.
- If they consent, we connect you and the full trace fee applies. If they decline or do not reply, we tell you we reached them and you pay only the £60 work-started fee.
Questions about this
Why won’t you just give me the address?
Because a personal wish to reconnect is not a lawful basis for handing over someone’s home address. Consent is. Most people say yes.
What do I pay?
Nothing today: your card is saved, not charged. If we cannot find the person, nothing is ever charged. If we find them and they agree to be put in touch, you pay the trace fee (£150 Standard). If we find them and pass on your message but they decline or do not reply, you pay the £60 work-started fee, which covers the search and the approaches we made.
What if they don’t reply?
We make two attempts over three weeks. If there is still no response, we tell you we reached them and the £60 work-started fee applies; the full trace fee does not.
